This year, Generations United, a national membership organization focused solely on improving the lives of children, youth, and older people through intergenerational strategies, programs, and public policies, revived its annual intergenerational photo contest. We thought we would open the voting up to our membership and get their feedback on this year’s best intergenerational photos. See below for instructions.
The prompt was for photographs by photographers of any age that depict youth and older community members engaging in activities that smash the silos that separate the generations and release the energy that comes from uniting them. Judges are to evaluate images based on originality, composition, overall impact, and representation of Generations United’s 2015 photo contest theme. The most effective photographs illustrating the theme, “Generations Unleashed Equal Value Unleashed,” are most likely to focus on a specific activity or participants in close-up. Select your three favorites of the following photos.
Note that Generations United reserves the final judgment on the top three photos. The award to audience favorite is determined solely by number of votes, but audience feedback is taken into consideration for all categories.
